This is a method I used when I was working with a company which clients where also businesses.
Oixxio Technologies is a software development company with more than 10 years of experience in the industry, located in Córdoba Capital, Argentina. However, they have provided outsourcing services all over the world.
They provide custom software services. But they also have different products they developed and they tried to sell them. So there target different types of markets.
I have worked in that company for more than 3 years. At first I was a front-end developer. But then I started to work in marketing. I tried different stuff. Google Ads, Facebook Ads, SEO, etc.
But I had one main problem. I was the only person in there working and their marketing budget wasn't enough. In my opinion, the best way to reach targeted people was through email marketing.
There's a huge difference between receiving a promotional email receiving an actual email. What I am trying to say here is that most of the people who will receive the email, wont't realize that it is an outreach campaign.
There are three very important actors in this campaign. The "Market", the "Method" and the "Message". These three interact with each other in a very specific way and if one of them isn't powerful enough, the whole campaign crashes.
The market is defined by your product. Who are you trying to reach? You need specify:
Example: If you are trying to sell a CRM software for car dealerships. You will probably have to target marketers who work in car dealerships, and you can start with your local area.
This is the way you are going to collect people/companies's contact information (or just emails) and the way you are going to interact with them. There are many of ways you collect their contact info:
Let's say you google "car dealerships in your local area". You find hundreds of companies. And you click through their result and look up for their email. You do this with the next 10 results. And it works you have 10 new targeted emails for your campaign.
The problem is you will be wasting a lot of time by doing a repetitive job manually. You must find a way of automating the data base building. There are thousands of software tools that can help you with that. For example:
You need to define sequence. You will need to determine a serious of steps that are going to be programmed based on user interactions. This is very easy to elaborate with email marketing software. For example, in Mailchimp you can create email workflows and there are triggers that can determine which message comes next.
Another very important aspect of this campaign is the message, and there are 2 important aspects in here:
You need to create messages that seems extremely personal to the receiver. You need to talk to him.
I have ran a lot of these type of campaigns and if you follow the guidelines I've just told you it should work for you too.
Our call to action was always to schedule an online call. Then the sales team should keep track of the prospect and develop some kind of business.
